RE: [exs] VST vs native

Hi,

Will it still be sampleaccurate or is that Logic only?
I believe that it is sample accurate as well but I'm not 100% sure.
EXS24 is actually only a sample player since you have to record into logic
anyway and then import it to the EXS24.
If you could record audio straight into the EXS24 it would be a sampler,
but
hey...I don't care much about that....

Can it only playback already made instruments and it can't edit anything
on
  them?
Isn't the instrument editor window in it at all?
You got it. I don't think most exs-24 users or potential ones are too
worried about it being able to do its own sampling. However, the lack of an
editor for the non-logic version I believe will be a major influence on how
many are sold. I don't know why Emagic have decided to release it this way
or just how much editing will be available. However, with other VSTi
softsamplers on the market, would you choose the exs-24 if you didn't use
Logic Audio? I would, myself, urge Emagic to release it with the full
capability that it has for Logic. I suspect their reasons are more due to
software piracy than anything else.
If that's it than it's a major drawback and I wouldn't even consider
buying
  it...
I already own it and, after having used it for a brief period, I would
probably buy it. However, if I didn't own Logic and was going to use it in
one of the other sequencers, I don't know if I would invest the money into
it when there are other softsamplers that do a similar job but yet allow
full editing of their instruments. I plan on giving Emagic some feedback
when I've used it enough and this is going to be one of the points I'll be
making.

All in all though, I'm really enjoying using the exs-24 and exploring its
capabilities. It is going to come in extremely handy for my sequencing. I
used to use an MPC2000XL as my main drum sample player (as well as my main
sequencer for live use) sometimes just playing back samples and other times
as a master with Logic synced to it (to take advantage of its special
timing). With the sample accuracy and ease of use in Logic Audio, I have
changed this. My MPC will pretty much only ever see action now for live
gigs and I'll be using the exs-24 for all my drum needs. Once I upgrade my
PC later this year (waiting for LAWP 5.0 and MP support), I can easily see
myself being able to do entire songs by simply using my computer and
softsamps and softsynths. It's a great time to be making music :-)

Regards,
Fernando
