Wav's and aiff's are just audio files, period.  In the EXS you can 
load those in a new instrument (i.e. the audio files are the samples 
with which a sampler creates instruments).  The EXSP is the Player 
version of the EXS and can't create new instruments.  As for REX 
files: they're a different beast altogether, and I wouldn't expect 
any sampler to be able to do anytning sensible with them.
