I would go for the Giga version, as it has keyswitching which the EXS-24
supports, and also doesn't impose memory restrictions, which is not
compelling for the EXS either. Akai will restrict memory, which you don't
want. The Emu likely will impose real-time programming which the EXS
probably can't handle.

However, Giga won't "go to town" on the programming, will give you large
samples, adn supply keyswitching which you can handle as well.

As far as conversion goes, Translator www.chickensys.com never drops any
instruments/samples from any Emu or Akai setup, unless the Bank or
Program/Volume is corrupted in the first place. However, if ever it does or
seems like it does, you are free to submit it to one our 257 holiday
support staffers (okay, I'm kidding) and we'll check it out and send you a
holiday chocolate gift bag as a friendly thank you.
