I would go for the Giga version, as it has keyswitching which the EXS-24 supports, and also doesn't impose memory restrictions, which is not compelling for the EXS either. Akai will restrict memory, which you don't want. The Emu likely will impose real-time programming which the EXS probably can't handle. However, Giga won't "go to town" on the programming, will give you large samples, adn supply keyswitching which you can handle as well. As far as conversion goes, Translator www.chickensys.com never drops any instruments/samples from any Emu or Akai setup, unless the Bank or Program/Volume is corrupted in the first place.
