Hello Tim, What coincidences! For years, I've had an Atari site bookmarked, run by a Tim Conrardy, which I check periodically. Recently, I printed out the copies of "Synapse" magazine, which have been made available (thanks guys!) to us online. I recall reading a letter to the editor by a Tim Conrardy. I would not have guessed it was _such_ a common name! Thanks for the Youtube links. My very first experience with synthesizers was with an EML 101, 200 & 400, when I got to borrow them for a month (Xmas vacation) from Auburn University, in about 1974. I've been distracted for decades by a fun day job, but I never lost my fondness for synths. I have an Oberheim FVC, Yamaha TX816 (full), 2 Synergy DXIIs, Roland MKS-80, MKS-70, Casio VZ-10(&8)M, and many others (the day job has benefits!) I love the EMLs, but the Electrocomps I've seen for sale lately, have been very pricey. I've been building my own substitute, using a combination of PAiA 9700s & Blacet modules (& when I have time, some things from "Electronotes". Now, about reducing the EML 200 hum - try teaching it the lyrics! I may be the last person who joined this site, before you. But.... Welcome Tim! I'm pleased to be a member of a group that includes you! Thanks for the benefits I have gleaned from you over the years! synergeezer --- In emlsynth@yahoogroups.com, "timothyconrardy" <tconrardy@...> wrote: > > Someone caught me at the Analouge Heaven meeting last year(in Oakland, > CA, USA)and put up these video's on You Tube. > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0shwbPK7e2g&feature =related > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ov4j_ahxnA&NR=1 > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drH7lgzk6bM > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX6CvTE1bYk > (Thats my CB device I made) > > It's me and my trusty EML200-Yamaha setup > I was doing a search for EML there, and these video's came up..cool! > I'm famous now! :-) > > The yamaha cs5 was in a fire and all the keys were pretty burned..so I > colored them for fun:-)It actually interfaces very well with the EML. > ( same volt per octave kind of thing) > However, there is an issue right now with the EML ( and I started to > explain it in the video, but was cut off) Theres an 'extra' sound in > the osc tone..it's like it's being ring modulated.
