I have tried to write discs on my IBM using Emx. When I load them into my emax the sounds are a bit screwed up. It sounds like some sort of extreme tremolo - not very nice... Do I need some drivers or something?

I just tried it in ms dos and the result was still bad (maybe even worse). Any other suggestions? Its been my experience that the disks above the number ZD749 come out corrupt. I believe that Emx is having trouble coping with the modern computers. I myself have not had any luck even booting my computer from floppy and DOS 6.22 on disks above the ZD749. I do get the disks below ZD749 to work in Windows 98 Dos mode (not Dos window) you know "exit to Dos mode." Try some of the lower number and see if you can get those to work. Skip

I've had best results with this using an older DOS, like the one used on Windows 95 or earlier than that. I've hung on to an old Windows 3.1 laptop for this use.

What is ZD749? Is this the name/volume the computer gives the floppy? If so you could manually rename the disk volume. ZD749 is the catalog number of the bank. Most of the Emax library is labelled ZDxxx.
