not to sound goofy, but thats what i thought too, except when you choose
that option, it seems to want to back up to floppys only, not another hard
drive.

Can't remember the steps off the top of my head, it's back-up/restore. First choose the
source drive then choose the destination drive. I think by default it chooses the floppy as
the destination and I can't remember if you use the slider to select an alternate SCSI
drive or if you have to key in the SCSI ID #. I do know however it works, I go from my
internal HD to external Syquest drive when I back-up.

Man I cant figure it out because it keeps on saying that hard drive # 2 only
has
8 meg available, when it should read close to 540 meg(its the maxtor 540s)
and it is formatted.
the external is only around 100 meg, and only has like 30 banks on it
i want to copy them to HD#2 so i can take the external somewhere and
get more sounds.

It wont let me copy anything with out saying not enough space!

Can't help you here. All I can think is that something is wrong with the drive or that the
original format didn't work. Have you tried to reformat it?

I have in fact retried formatting it, and it currently
says 520 meg 99% free

when I goto copy or backup the drive it says to #2?
interactive? then it says 8 meg available?
Im guessing this is how much it can do at a time?

pressing yes, gets me a choice of a toggle mode
that ends up saying not enough memory when I choose the first
bank, Im going to try another one.!

Re: [emax] how to copy HD to HD?

2002-10-09 by Matt Ferrari

well, still cant get it to work, but by switching drive selects I can
load a bank from one HD and then switch and save the bank one at a time.

I dont think I will be selling preloaded HD's or doing much with this at
this rate.

You know when you mentioned the interactive back-up it struck me that I've never been
able to get it to work either. The couple times I've tried it locks up a few banks in. I
guess I always do one bank at a time.
