OK folks- there is a database for memory and adapters on the Yahoo group that I added. Please add your memory type, size, part # what you used it with (emax 1 or 2 or both). In this way we can all contribute and help each other to learn what memory we can buy and use with our Emaxes.... Regards, Ted

i managed to buy a batch of industrial generic toshiba 32mb and 512mb type1 and type2 cf flash cards the 32 are great for the emax1 and the 512 work great with the emax2 no point in using any other sizes as its a waste of format size dont use ultra dma cf as the scsi implimentaion is slow on these machines max 20mb per second so dont use type3 or type 4 cf cards as they wont work also any configuration of cf cards is if its 1gb or over it needs to be set to dma but any thing under 1gb is alright on pio mode as with the pc card interface they only work on pio mode any way ide to cf adapters will work with both pio mode and dma sandisk type 2 32mb and 512mb work fine in the emaxes as do the kingston 32mb and 512mb type 1 and 2 i use alot of 512mb cf cards as they are best for a lot of old samplers that only format upto this size rolands760/750/770/w30/550 akai s1000/s3000/s2800/s3200/mpc3000 kurzweil will format upto 2gb ensonig will format upto 2gb on there own or 16gb with the help of translator
