Emax SD

Emax SD

2007-12-23 by laurent

Hi to all members

I should join the owners soon with an Emax SE.
I have made a search before to post off course & i'm quite surprised
to not see the Sound designer for Emax available into the files
section of this group.

Is there a particular reason why it is not here, noone managed to put
the hands on it ?
I'm quite ready at using the SD for Emax as i'm already running the SD
for Emulator II on an old mac,& SD for the sequential prophet 2002,
boths sucessfully.

Thank you for helping me out.

Cheers

Laurent

Hi Laurent

Congratulations with the Emax SE !
SD for Emax is very rare and can not be found anywhere on the
internet.
Even Rob from emulatorarchive doesn't have it and he told me he has
never seen it...
But... one of the members of this group has an HD image for Mac
containing an installed version of Emax for SD.
See message: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/emax/message/3741
It seems it's not possible to copy the SD software from this image
due to a kind of copyprotection. I tried it myself and I didn't
succeed. So I always have to start the software from the original ZIP
disk on which the image is installed.
If you want the software, you can contact Wayne.
PS: SD for Emax seems to be compatible in some degree with Emax-II
too.

BTW: I forgot to mention it, but this SD for Emax doesn't have the
option for sending/receiving full banks to/from the Emax. This option
was promised for one of the future versions of SD but they never
released this version.
That's a shame since that function is about the only one I use with
my Emulator II & SD for EmuII, to avoid the slow floppy bank loads.

Dear E-Synthesist

Thank you for the very usefull answers.
The point about the fact SD for Emax does nt send banks changes
everything to me.
I thought i could manage the emax's banks the same way i manage the
EII's ones.

There is Sound designer II 2.5 on the files section of the group which
normally is able to manage the emax.
A very simple , i bet i would have to use a digidesign audio interface
& surely an audiomedia I or II(nubus), the audiomedia III pci card
would be to recent ?

Thanks again

Laurent
