Emax

Hi Everyone

Well, after a few months of teasing me (waiting 20 mins for emax to power up), my emax 
power supply has finally died.

Last time i emailed the group about this, it was suggested that i should, open up the emax, 
re-seat the connections between the boards and from the psu to the pcb.  I've done this and 
it's made no difference.

Also, after a while of being powered on, i heard a fairly loud single Click noise from inside 
the emax.  I've check the capacitors to see if any have popped, and can't see any.  Any ideas 
anyone.... please.  I don't want to have to bin my emax.

The caps seldom actually 'pop', they usually just dry out and for an instrument of this 
vintage you should really expect to have to replace them.
  Sorry, but you've got to pull it all apart and warm up the soldering iron, while you're at it 
you might as well check the bigger resistors, I seem to remember last time I had mine 
apart that they used some cheap carbon-comp ones that had change their values with age.
