New Member/User - PLEASE HELP

2007-05-14 by MR SHERIDON

Thank you for allowing me to enter into your group of all things Emax.
You will have to excuse my lack of techy-ness and naivety regarding
these wonderful machines, as it's the first time I've ever owned one,
although I have had access to one before and I loved the sounds from it.
I have a few questions which I hope you can help me with (and for which
I'd be very grateful), having just been given my Emax...the original
one, not Emax2.

1. Everytime I switch my Emax on, it's blowing the glass fuse at the
back of the lead.....What next???
2. Where do I get banks from...disks don't appear to be available
anymore, and I have no idea what I need to do to get stuff onto disk,
or what disks to use...where to buy etc etc....(Again - sorry for my
ignorance)
3. How much does an Emax usually cost these days and If I decide to buy
this one, how much should I be looking at spending...and is it
worhwhile??
I hope you can help as I'm a bit lost at the minute.....
Many Thanks for help.
Dave

Cant help you with the fuse thing.

You can use Double sided or single sided disks. Not new ones. I got mine
off ebay. I have ten boxes of 728k DD disks!

I don't really need that many. If you have an emax 1 (same as me) you can
download a program from this group. It formats an os to disk. To be honest
its very hit and miss. It took me 20 goes to get one OS disk that worked.
But after that i copied a load of of disks with the emax os.

If you live in the Uk, and have an emax 1. I can sell you some of my
stockpile of floppy disks with the os written on them. I can give you a few
sounds as well.

I will sell you 1 box of disks for \ufffd2. you can buy up to 5 box's from me.
they are all new. But i will open 1 box to write the os to some. i have
to add p&p.

However if you have emax 2 i cant help you. Also you probably want to sort
fuse thing out first.

The fuse blowing- check the power supply first. For more repair info
go to: http://www.emulatorarchive.com/Archives/Samplers/EmaxOverview/
EmaxRepairs/emaxrepairs.html

Verify the voltage selector is on the correct voltage for your
country, also.

Thx,
Ted
