Emax

It has been asked before but I didn't find an answer... are the inputs 
balanced? What about the outputs? I get some low levels from the emax 
(meaning the maximum volume isn't really as loud as it should be).  
Could this be because I'm using TRS cables?

  I can tell you that the inputs and outputs on the Emax is definately unbalanced. Emu used unbalanced up until the EIIIx which came in 1991/1992.
