arpegiator

hi

is there any way i can sync the emaxIIs arpegiator with a drum machine or
vice versa using midi, if so how would i do it? the drum machine is a boss
dr550 and only has a midi 'in' port. I tried changing the arpeggiators clock
to external and messing around with the midi settings but i cant get any
kind of sychronisation, i can however get the emax to play the drums, which
isnt really very helpful!
any ideas?

Cheers

Anth.

If my memory serves me right the answer is no. I believe the few
times I messed about with it the only option was to have it sync to
an external clock coming from my MIDI interface. I know it also has
the option to sync to a pulse clock like that on an 808. Your best
option is to hook both to a sequencer or computer and have it be
the master clock.

Hi!

I know that you can get the arpeggio to work over midi. The arpeggio
works both external and internal, if you set the right midi channel
on the preset...

If I remember it right it works automatically, the tempo, if you just
recording it on you're sequencer. I don't remember how it was really.

But how ever I know that the Emax sync is really strange. Working
with qubase, to the Atari, did not work as I was hoping for. Also was
the tempo sync really getting really lose in 122bpm, when I was
working with the Alesis-MMT8. The sequencer that I have discovered
working best with the Emax is the internal in the Esoniq ESQ-1.

I just want to ask, why work with the arp. When you can record just
the notes that you want...

cheers/
niklas
