scsi connection

scsi connection

2005-01-18 by monson05

I bought some external HD, preloaded with sounds... super...

But when I connected it in nothing "no scsi drive om ID2 was found".
I set the ID (external HD) to "2" as well but...... Where is the
troble? And how to get the OS 2.14 dikette. (not "emx" , I didn`t
have luck to get the new OS with emx programm into the EMAX)

Need help!

Re: [emax] scsi connection

Hi Monson05

I pressume that we are talking about an Emax II, right (because of the OS2.14)?

How does your Emax II react. Does it go through SCSI ID 0 to 7 and loop over and over again? You say that you bought the drive with sounds on but what brand is your drive? Is your drive external or internal and is it terminated? Does your drive spin up?

1½ year ago I downloaded OS2.14 from the Emax II usergroup without any problems. If you can't make it work, then you can order a diskette from www.emulatorarchive.com for a small fee.

Best regards

Emax 2 rack and keyboard compatibility

2005-01-21 by J R

Just an FYI to those that are curious.

Rack components are compatibile with keyboard and
vice-versa.

I have (or should say had) an EMAX 2 4mb rack and an
EMAX 2 2mb keyboard.

Tonight I successfuly switched the
motherboard/mainboard and the output boards. I now
have a working EMAX 2 keyboard with 4mb, internal Hard
drive, and an EMAX 2 Rack with 2mb, internal Hard
Drive and external Zip Disk.

I will be selling the rack version with the zip disk
on ebay very soon if anyone is interested.

Man I took my time but it was soo worth it. Now I
have decent memory for jam sessions and a hard drive
of sounds too.

SO excited!!!

I know, doesn't take much, but I thought the group
would appreciate my small victory.

Thanks all~

Ha ha! Yes sure did and no extra screws! I took my
time on this project.

As a matter of fact I'm about to put the rack up on
ebay right now with the internal hard drive
(installed) and the Sysquest drive with cables and
carring case.
