Emax

Hi

I've spent the last few weeks reading alot about the emax bootdisk - 
emx problems and still I can't solve mine.
I own an emax SE and just got some ds/dd disks today. First I 
worried they weren't working since they were mac formatted but I got 
arround that and actually made it to a 3.2 OS disk that also got 
varified by emx.

Anyhow, no matter what I do the emax won't boot. The analog 
processing LED is on and the drive makes some weird noises in a 
repetitive rythym (da-da-da--di). All LEDs flash for a second 
when the 'di' sound comes up. This repeats itself forever so it 
seems 
and I don't have a clue wether I need a new drive or if it is a chip 
not being able to store the data.

Please Help Me.

I've waited two months for my emax to arrive 3 further weeks for 
disks and now this ....

It's an emax se rack and the display sais : 
E-Mu Systems Inc
Loading Software

when I insert disks that obviously wont work it displays :
Disk Not 
Formatted!

Hi,
The Emax displays a diagnostic code on the front panel at boot up. If the
Analog Processing LED is left on it means the Emax cannot read the software,
it usually means the OS disk is unreadable.. It could also be a drive
problem, but you won't know until you try a good OS diskette. EMX cannot
create reliable OS diskettes without an Emax formatting the DS/DD diskette
first (Catch 22).

The solution is simple. Buy a new Emax OS diskette from
www.emulatorarchive.com for 15 US dollars. You get free email support, a
diskette that works, and you help keep a web site running thats dedicated to
all legacy E-mu users. Even the guys at E-mu buy our diskettes...
