Request.... for the Silveria Emax site (others may agree)

2004-02-29 by roscoe_sheridan

What happened to the Emax FAQ?
Is it there and I missed it? There was a tutorial deal on there about
Sound Forge sample transfers that I was gonna try when I had time. I
had to get it from a google cached search and save it to the hard
drive. I found it to be useful others may also find it to be. I
already sent the cached search link to a cat who could use the info
earlier today. Who knows who else may need the info. Bring back the
FAQ!!! LOL

Peace...

Thanks! I know there are things I haven't transferred over. I am adding that information
to the Using pages right now, along with the correct MID SDS assignments for the Emax
II. On a similar note I started using Sound Forge with my Emax II again recently and
clarified how a couple of the transfer errors occur. I'll add that as well.

It's been added, but I decided to give it it's own menu tab. So there is a direct link to it
off of the menu bar on the left down by the guide to EMX.

For the most part yes. Setting up Sound Forge is the same. You might have an issue
with the fact that Emax samples are 12 bit, I'm not sure all modern sound cards can play
them back. It might be necessary to resample them to 16 or 8 bit for editing then back to
12 bit before sending them back to the Emax. It's been a long time since I used SF with
an Emax, but I seem to remember this being an issue and that samples didn't play back
at the right pitch because of it.
