Emax 1 is not compatible with Emulator 3.

Really? So a Emulator 3 (plain) or 3X can read Emax II but not Emax I?

If not, you can always use Translator to convert the Banks/Presets to E3/E3X format. (I think EMXP does it too?)

To my knowledge the Emax Library is a convertion of the emulator 2 library.
( Through I could be wrong..)

To the best of my knowledge all of the recordings for the EII where originally done on a Sony PCM F1.
Those same recordings where used to create the Emax factory library.
So there was no direct transfer but the recording source was the same.

I heard many that PCM F1 was used to sample original library. But do you have an idea how physically did they do that? Was there any special interface that EMU developed for EII at that time?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
