EMAX II memory expansion - noob question

EMAX II memory expansion - noob question

2016-03-17 by fm_xtk@...

My as-yet-to-be-working EMAX II 2206 seems to have both, the memory expansion board plus relevant PALs installed already (IP431, IP432, IP433, IP430).

However, none of the RAM sockets are populated. The internal HDD (broken) is a Conner CP-340 an without being able to boot to check that would point to it having 4MB RAM installed.

This leads me to believe that the unit could be upgraded to 8MB by adding IC's and using the scrambled megs procedure?

Please forgive me if this has been covered before - I did a search and checked Ted's blog as well as the installation guide but ended up being confused.

Many thanks

Max

I'm interested too. And yes it's been covered, and yes I need a reminder too! :)

#1 - From my understanding, if you had a 1MB the main board and not 2MB, you will not get to 8MB. Only 7MB

#2- See if you can boot from floppy - from there once confirmed working, go with SD would be my suggestion as has been discussed already.
