Consider that postage could has to do with this problem.

One of my emax didn't power up as soon as I received it. Contacted the seller and he confirmed that the unit was working perfect. I carefully checked the power supply and found a cold solder joint in the transformer (quite reasonable, as the transformer weights a bit.

Any shock in transit can make that happens.
