Re: EMu Emax 1 Service manual

2012-06-05 by esynthesist

I remember that the same discussion took place about one year ago on this group. It's clear that the material is copyrighted, and that there's no trace of E-Mu giving up the copyright on their service manuals. So publishing it for free or selling it without distribution rights can be considered illegal.

Despite this facts, during the same discussion last year a member of this group decided to upload that service manual temporarily. So perhaps you have taken the opportunity to download it at that time. Or someone who did has re-uploaded it somewhere else (the unfortunate cascade effect...)

For people who want this service manual:
- the preferred way would (have been ?) to contact Rob for this, but I'm not sure if he still has time to offer these services
- an alternative way is to buy it from www.musicparts.com, although it's not clear if they have distribution rights (but if they don't, it wouldn't be very smart of them to run a public commercial website dedicated to selling this kind of material...). Be aware that musicparts is quite expensive, especially when compared to Rob's "shop". But the download service is instant and scan quality is good.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
