Re: [emax] Just got my mac classic II

2011-11-29 by jammie

dont now if the low end mac classic works

does it have scsi as some dont

all macII work up to the quadra range

i have a macIIsi and a macIIci the si is the same as the se/30 but a faster processor 20khz compared to the 16khz

the se/30 uses a dirty 32bit os and needs special software to add bigger ram than 16mb

the macIIsi does not as it was the first to have the clean 32bit os rom installed same as the ci

the se/30 and si both have a pds slot which needs a convertor board to use full lenght mubus cards
so if you want to add a audiomedia 2 or soundaccelerator2 card you need this adapter

the ci has 3 nubus slots and the sdII cards fit straight in

the quadra range have more slots

i have a quadra 840e which is a 040 processor nice machine you can add an g4 processor to it but you need os8 and higher for this and sd2 dont work properly unless you upgrade to 2.8.3 no sampler support from this version

so check the mac classic has scsi if not you wont be able to use the emax single version image

30 dollars on craigslist...not too shabby!

I realize this has likely been covered on the forums, but I've done some searching to no avail, so...

How do get the Sound Designer files or Alchemy onto disks? I've tried formatting a floppy in the Mac Classic and then throwing it into my USB drive on my new mac...gues that would be too easy.

If anyone can give me some direction, or even point me to where this question has been answered on the forums previously I'd truly appreciate it.

  Thanks guys!
