Re: [emax] My 2 EmaxII Friendly Zip100 Drives

2002-08-25 by Pedro H

Hello, how does the Emu III sound? It´s similar to the Emax II´s?
I have an ESI 32, which can read Emax II SCSI drives, but the sound is a joke...
Regards.
Pedro.

  Will, and list :)
Both are Model Number: Z100S2, one assembled in Philippines, one in Malaysia.
One has P/N:00822500, the other: 02644B03

From the Model #, sounds like they're from the Second run of them.
As far as "..make...," I think only Iomega makes the Zip drive (but maybe you
  just meant serial/model, etc.).

Just a side note....I also own an EIIIXS, which will read Emax II samples,
but only from an EmaxII formatted SCSI device. It seems to me I'm unable to
just place my EmaxII floppies into the floppy drive of the EIIIXS and read
them there because it's not a SCSI device. So luckily, I have my pair-o-zip
drives. Funny thing is though, the type of connector on the EmaxII is
compatible with the stock SCSI cable that comes with a Zip drive, while the
EIIIXS has the larger 50-pin connectors (and I don't have a darn adaptor!
Not a big deal, but thought I'd mention it)
