Ah, OK. I understand the situation now. Sorry if you've shared this information with the group already, but what external SCSI devices have you tried? The external SCSI > IDE > CF I'm using is the Spyrus MC-DISK2, which I purchased from scsiforsamplers.com in 2008 before they ran out. As noted, I successfully formatted two 1GB SanDisk CF cards with this unit (set to SCSI device #3). I've also used this device successfully with my Emulator III (set to device #5). Also, what type of Emax II do you have, and are you running the latest OS (2.14)? My Emax II was running 2.14 when I formatted the cards.
