This is just a guess, but I bet the reason they suggest not booting from removable media is that if they said it was ok, there would probably be a bunch of people calling tech support asking why their EMAX won't start up.  I think with the EMAXII, you can only change boot options after booting, so if you lost your Zip drive, you wouldn't be able to switch SCSI boot # back to your other drives?  SOrry, I'm at work so I don't have my manual handy....

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
