Hello Paul, I'm new to Emax's, but the research I've done over the past few weeks might be of interest to you. As you say a Zip drive would be a cheaper alternative to a replacement floppy drive. I picked a SCSI Zip drive with 10 x 100mb discs for $22 on Ebay. How would you transfer the banks to your SCSI Zip? If you are using a computer, then you wouldn't really need a floppy drive, as the Zip would load the system software....correct me if I'm wrong. I like the internal HD option, as it reduces the amount of cables hanging around, also you would be able to store more banks on the drive. I'm live on ebay, and you can pick up a HD for around $20 - $30, and a external zip for around $20 - $40. There is a newer, and more compact solution.......compact flash.....I cant find the link, but if you search for internal compact flash drive on ebay you will find the company selling them. (They will also throw in a 1gb card!!). I hope the above info is of use.
