You must create tracks in the sequencer by recording a small amount for each track you wish to use. Under the sequencer options is a track status (or similar) option to set each mode to play or record. After you have set up the number of parts that you need (by setting a track's status to record and recording a second of nothing), then set them to play and you can assign presets for each of the parts. There are 16 available tracks that correspond to 16 midi channels.
