Re: [emax] Re: Problem with Scanner MPU?

2008-06-21 by Marko Laukka

Hello Ted,
It turns on normal and ask for 'Insert disk!'. If I load the OS3.2 disk that came with Emax, it loads it and gives error message: 'CRC error', and hangs. If I put one of my own disks (OS1.1 HD) it loads and says: 'wait a moment' loads the disk and display the loaded bank/preset and then hangs, i.e. it doesn't matter which buttons I press, nothing happens. The 'Enter' led lights up as normal but no other leds (except for 'Analog processing'-led at beginning) or any sequences of leds turns on. So I don't get any hint from some diagnostic check at start up.
The technical manual says; Problem: 'Software loads and then display goes blank', Solution: 'Change bad scanner MPU'.
But in my case the display keep showing the loaded sound/preset and the whole front panel is locked/don't respond to any button pushes. The only led that stays on is the 'Enter' led.

Thanks in advance,
Marko

When you say it loads the disk and just hangs there. what exactly
happens.

Sequence of evemts- what leds come on on the panel and do they stay
on or change?
What shows in LCD? Does it say diagnostics, then loading software or
only diagnostics. These are all important because there may be other
explanation.

Regards.
Ted
