Re: Emax II ..

about the previous message -
i thought truncation and ending based on level
are one and the same thing

Now Im really wondering about the feasibility of adding things such as these to the EmaxII (and other similar devices in general..) by software upgrade/hacking :

~ start/stop force sampling by footswitch
~ post sample threshold cutoff/envelope option (so it stops recording after the sound is over when recording ..)
~ change of default sample placement ratio settings ...
~ portamento capability

~ (and even , more advanced , if possible - threshold multi sampling - for taking a bunch of samples in a row and having them be automatically placed as separate samples (based on the simple setable placement ratio), divided by the below-threshold spaces/silence between)

{OS hack/upgrade example idea ...      when in Sample mode have footswitch 1  =  #7  button press (force sampling) , and footswitch 2  =  #8  button press (end sampling)  }
{ it already can recognize thresholds, and trigger sampling by it ... so why not post sample..?? )
{default re-write or just have it remember your last sample placement parameters and continue on from there to next (instead of resetting to the single default ratio every freaken time) }

maybe Im just dumb or something , but
I am baffled and frustrated that a sampler (and so many other devices, including very recent ones Ive used ) with so many other seemingly complex features and tedious editing capabilitys and additions does not have these simple (much more) vital and timesaving/(intuition/inspiration preserving[fostering/supporting]) realtime features (or at least the flexability so that the user could make the features) damn damn damn I say ... ;p

Did they not think of it ?? how could they have not thought of it?
its this kind of thing that starts making me really think that all reality is my own karmic nightmare or something
its bizzarre like that like a dream (which seem to abound in ridiculous things of this nature) , like some kind of a joke, for real.. :)

maybe I shouldnt have wrote that..
