I concur with Rob on all points, but I think you can still get near 
$500 for a fully loaded Emax II (with internal HD). Check 
rec.music.makers.marketplace and E-bay to see what they are 
actually going for. I don't think a mono 1Mb unit is worth the parts 
inside, I'd never pay more than $100 for one.

I agree the price of the ESi series getting so low has made the 
price of the Emax II drop, however the Emax II sounds better than 
an ESi (I have both myself) for dums and analogue samples and 
the Emax II is still more desirable in the hip-hop and techno-ish 
type music fields (IMHO).
