Emax

Regarding the Atari, I used to have a Steinberg editor specifically for the Emax1.  
Avalon, also by Steinberg, would talk with the Emax, Akai and others of the day.

The EmulatorArchive people suggested these tips 

Unfortunately not all PC diskettes drives work with EMX, the older the drive the better. Some users do have problems that make EMX unworkable.
Things to check before giving up hope of this working are:

* Use DS/DD floppy diskettes not HD
* Use new diskettes, not formatted by anything else
* Use a well known brand of diskette such as Imation
* Use EMX under DOS not windows
* If a format goes wrong you need to power off and on the PC, once the program has lost touch with the disketrte drive it wont work
* See if the format EMX command works (you will need a copy of the Emax OS in EM1 format in the same directory as the EMX program) and that you can save a Emax sample bank to the diskette

  i tried to put some files on a DD Disk. I downloaded these files from
  that EMU sound collection somewhere. the files are called "zd705.em1"
  and stuff like this... the problem is that EMX gives me disk error:
  "No respond from drive" and "Sector not found !"

  does anyone know whats wrong?
