Hi, The E4's have improved G chips, which are better than Emax II/EIIIX (but not as big a jump up as from Emax to Emax II !!!). The H chip was also improved in the 1990's (more filter types), but the more recent ideas on a brand new H chip have not materialised as there is no funding to do it. This H chip would have had even better digital filters, and the Z plane idea would have not had the limitations it has today. I have heard a prototype idea that Dana Massie at E-mu Systems was working on until he left, and it was quite amazing. There is still some amzing things to be done with E-mu Systems technology, maybe some of the potential will surface in the software sampler. Check out the DARWIN 8 track digital hard disk recorder for some cool sample convolutions that might have made it into a sampler one day. Regards Rob Hey all, Ok, so the E4 does real nice transposition too. Which chip is in that box? I have the Emax II and EIIXS at home, and an E4 at work. I always thoght the E4 was king of pitch shifting.... [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
