What I know about it— Emax 1 libraries will read into Emax 2. Emax 2 libraries, some are the same (naming) as Emax 1 but are 16 bit instead, not compressed like Emax 1 banks. Emax 2 CDs released with 1MB, 2MB, 4MB, and 8MB sizes depending on what memory size your sampler had would determine which CDs you would buy. The Emax 1 factory libraries were released on Zip as well. I copied them onto bootable images with PLUS 1.0 OS, tested them on SD cards and then UL'd them to the box. Emax II sound libraries were released on CD, but it takes a special drive to read them on Emax itself. Therefore, people read them in with EMXP or a couple of other utilities. I have some of them on CD… ISOs of the CDs are out on the web as well. I believe the HD images of Emax 2 are also on the box. Along with some other not-factory stuff. -T On Feb 10, 2016, at 12:06 AM, thared33@yahoo.com [emax] <emax@yahoogroups.com> wrote: Are the Emax I and II libraries completely separate? There's a whole boatload of them at the hermannseib website, going from disk ZD700 up to ZD858. Are all of those strictly the Emax I factory library, or are some Emax II diskettes in there as well? I don't believe a CDROM was ever released for the Emax or Emax II but correct me if I'm wrong. Was everything released on floppy diskettes for the Emax I/II? As far as re-releases, almost all of the floppies on that site are on the Elements Of Sound CDROMs in EIII format. Whatever they may be, Emax I or II, we've got that covered. You also have the Emulator Standards CDs which I'm guessing are just the factory EIII sounds. I'm also curious if any of the EI and EII sounds were re-released or made their way into the Emax I/Emax II, EIII libraries and so on. If anyone has any info to contribute I'd appreciate it.
