The same Serial UART does both the RS422 and the MIDI- you are supposed to only hook one cable at a time.
So if you have both cables hooked- unhook the one you aren’t using presently.
IF the midi test fails and you don’t have both RS422 and MIDI hooked, you could also run through the Serial test and see if that fails too.
If both were to fail, at that point you might be looking at the UART or the rest of the circuit in relation to that port...
