solved .. kinda, but i had to use an sf2 program
since i had the files sorted i decided to try an sf2 program to make sf2 instrument files. When i converted them to emaxii the names translated, so all the presets are named like they should be, instead of all being named PRESET 0. though if anyone knows a way to change the preset name within emxp I would still like to know.
