Re: [emax] Re: EM1 files from the box

I looked at the listing.
From what I gather, this drive should be plug and play.

Some Emax floppy cables have an incorrect connector / keying.

The ribbon cable will have the stripe connecting on the logic closest to the rear of emax.

Typically the stripe at the drive end is closest to the power connector.

If your cable isn't connected as described, it's wrong…. if the keying doesn't allow it, shave off the key with exacto blade or replace the cable.

Please note that Emax floppy drive cable does NOT have a twist in it like the PC standard A/B floppy drive cables commonly have.

Has anyone purchased an emax drive from ebay from a seller(BakerySauce) and gotten the drive to work in their EMAX, and if so HOW?

Thanks

Ok thanks. Just wanted to confirm that some of the em1 files on box.com in fact can be damaged. The images Ted uploaded seems to be working so far (just tried wav conversion and not in my Emax yet).

The 5 EZ1 Factory Images I uploaded were directly from Emax I labeled Factory Zip Disks...

That is the provenance of my images.

I don't know the exact contents of the box.com, but many copies of factory .EM1 files on the internet are corrupt. This is especially true for following bank numbers:
- ZD750, ZD755, ZD756
- ZD764, ZD765, ZD766, ZD767, ZD768, ZD769
- ZD770, ZD771, ZD772, ZD774, ZD775, ZD776
- ZD787, ZD788, ZD789
- ZD792, ZD793, ZD794, ZD795, ZD797, ZD798, ZD799
- ZD800
I assume that the .EZ1 file that Ted is referring to is not based on these corrupt versions.
If so this EZ1 file will most probably solve your problem.
