Hi Laurent,
It seems like someone has sold you a mono 2212. You have an early stereo Emax II (date of 1990) You'll have to check on the mainboard on IC25 if there is 457A written. If not someone has swapped all boards for an early type but upgraded the internal memory into 2 meg.
To upgrade from the mono into stereo is possible but you'll have to find someone who has the necessary IC's, PAL's and you'll have to buy an upgrade code from EPR electronics. It would be very expensive to upgrade. But if you do have the IC25 with the 457A you'll need to search for the stereo audioboard. Most likely your chip on the mainboard is still programmed for the stereo edition. Primary and secondary channel.
For the external scsi I would like to point out that the external ZIP drive should be found on SCSI ID 5/6 with termination on (with one way scsi cable). Disconnect HD and HD scsi cable. Check if your external scsi cable isn't inte rnal broken. If still can't find Scsi peripherals your scsi chip needs to be removed and the legs cleaned and reseated. Careful!!! No powercord should be connected to your Emax II if you do si! If that's not working most likely you'll need to replace the scsi chip (IC7) for a new one.
Good luck!
Frank

Ok, thanks for your help and for explaning everything.
The chip IC on the mainboard is a IP427 and not 457 so i guess i'll need that one as well, i already found the CS converter and the ADC easily on ebay but the Emu proprietary chip that is not going to be easy to find…
I ordered a ZIP drive as well, so far the Emax doesnt recognise any drive i threw in or out, apple CD150 and apple CD300e arent recognized either, this must be the most difficult sampler i have to connect with peripherals.
I ordered a NCR5380 chip on ebay as well, could be this that is defective, definately as i cleaned the beast totally this weekend and nothing changed.
this is like a graal quest, if i understood all of you here :-)
I'll then probably better wait to get a proper 4/8megs emax II it will be easier and keep that one for spare parts.
Best regards,
Laurent
