Elektron Musical Instruments

Friends,

I just got the Machinedrum directly from Sweden. The joy was soon 
over: I cannot change sounds or kits or anything...

I talked to the local assistant already, he told me to do the 
factory reset. I did so, but nothing happened. Here's what's 
happening (or what's not, so to say):
 
- I start the Machinedrum, it says KIT: INIT, AO1
- As stated in the manual, I chose another kit via KIT, move with 
the arrow keys to another KIT, press ENTER and... still the same 
sounds. I tried like 10 different kits, always the same sound.
- I cannot modify any parameter: SYTHESIS is active, BD chosen, I 
push the BD button and change i.e. the pitch value: nothing 
happens...
 
What's interesting: not every pad is connected to a sound. I don't 
have a sound on pad 4,5,8,10,11,12.
 
Didn't do much more, since I cannot even change the individual 
instrument sounds.
 
I guess this is a malfunction, since I acted as stated in the manual 
and already talked to your Swiss contact. Or am I fundamentaly 
missing something?

wow, this sucks!  sorry that your MD experience is going this bad so 
far. it
gets better, I promise! :-)

I would suggest that you contact Elektron tech support for assistance. 
it sounds
like something is majorly screwed in your MD.  but it also sounds like 
it might
be something in your OS. so in the meantime, I would also suggest 
downloading the
OS from their website and try installing that into your MD; it may not 
be the
problem, but it's worth a shot at least.
