Hmm, I can't get to this file (Yes, I filled in password and name). Anybody
knows how this works??

CDA files are fake files indicating Audio CD tracks. It looks like you can
drop them anywhere but of course it does not work... fuentes925 ; you need
to ripyour track first and then upload it !

After ripping the track from the cd, make sure you have converted it to 
.mp3 before uploading.

 Would a wave file also work I have converted it to wave but not sure 
how to convert to mp3. To convert to mp3, might I need a mp3 player

No, you just need a program to convert the file from .wav to .mp3.
I have a mac, so I'm not able to suggest you an encoder for Windows.
But there should be many available as shareware/freeware.
Just search for an "mp3 encoder" on the net, then process the .wav file.
This way, the file that you are going to upload will be much smaller 
(.wav files can be bigger than 60MB!)

Both of these tracks are worth the listen.  I especially like the MD 
only track.  It sounded almost like a four tet track.

Other than that, it works.  It's great for being able to send/receive
single patches or groups of patches instead of having to transfer an
entire bank all at once.  You can selectively mix and match your banks
by loading different pieces into the MD using this.

Already started :)  Just waiting on a little addition information from
Elektron regarding some of the SysEx commands.  From the looks of it,
the MD should be able to receive patches automatically using the $6B
(Set Receive Destination) SysEx command, but for some reason I cannot
get the MD to recognize this one...

Emagic is not giving out the SoundDiver SDK, otherwise I would have
just written a more complete native adaptation for it.  Anyway, a
standalone editor will be more flexible in the long run.

If you wrote an editor, what platform and IDE would you use?  Perhaps
a collaboration could be in order...

Just received MD. very impressed with unit, I'm trying to record a pattern onto PC. I have Midi handshake with MD to Layla. when I hit record in either Cubase or Cakewalk either pc freezes or MD locks up. Am I missing something really simple here? Any ideas are welcome.

forgive me if this is a stupid question: are you trying to record the
MD's MIDI data or the MD's audio? because it sounds like you just have
a MIDI setting issue... something is either being sent to and/or sent
from the MD that the MD/PC doesn't like.

what are the MIDI settings in the global slot you're using? that's
very likely where the problem is.

I can't seem to upload the mp3.  It's 892Kb.  I don't know but it
seems to be too large for yahoo.  Is there a way to make it smaller? 
Maybe I should lower the sample rate on my recording software?  I'll
check.  You can probably load it on your MD anyway.

Please check if you can get the mp3 thing to work. I'll have to burn 
the MID-file on a CD and bring it home, and then load it into the MD. 
Which is a bit of a hassle compared to pressing the mouse button and 
activating an mp3-link.. :)

you should be able to upload 892kb. there were mp3's up there that were
1MB or more, so it should work somehow :-)

what browser are you using?  I just uploaded a 2.3MB file with Safari 
and
IE with no problems.  (the upload limit is 5MB, by the way.) try it 
with one
of those, if you can.  if not, let me know (or forward it to me via

logic 8 as master

MD as slave


just before bar 9 till about bar 11 the sync of the MD goes out and  
all wierd then syncs again

i'm on a quad G5

found the problem the track with the grooves was un-muted and  
hidden.... overload on the midi....
