wow! what brand of RCA connectors and cable are you using?

of one thing I am sure...if you use a quality Mogami or Canare or Belden
cable with a telescoping shield and use quality connectors like Switchcraft
or Neutrik, you will have none of the problems you mention.

a quality connector will be snug when connected to the source. also, a
quality cable will lay as you want it, exerting no pressure on the connector
such that it can "pull out" of its own accord.

I respect your experience, but if RCA connectors were truly as poor as you
have described, it never would have become an audio interconnect standard.
