It's possible to do this. You need to convert your MIDI files to Disklavier format WAV files using the Windows utility MID2PianoCD: http://www.kinura.net/mid2pianocd/ Then burn the WAV files to an audio CD. As far as I know, the Mark III cannot play MIDI files burned as files on a data CD.

What Mark is saying is correct.
The Mark III, cannot see or play MIDI files that are saved directly to a CD. The files must be converted to an "audio" format.

Even though it can be done with mid2pianocd it really does not make sense. You can put 50- 99 midi files on a single floppy disk and only 10-15 on a CD. The only thing I use mid2pianocd for is to combine a commercial CD with a pianosoft smart disk. (Note though the cd will not be in stereo as the midi file in on one channel and the commercial song in on the other channel.) There is a noticeable difference in sound quality. You also cannot adjust the volume of the audio and midi separately. So I prefer to play the smart disks with the original CD. Also some smart disks do not sync well with the CD when using mid2pianocd. Better yet it is very easy to connect a laptop to the Mark III and play all your music from the laptop. (except smart disks) If your floppy drive dies your choices then become more limited and the laptop is the best method.
