I have been experimenting with the Mark IV's video sync for few years. which I think the DKC-850 can do now too. I have been currently recording sync recordings and storing them on my TiVo in HD which I can select and play in sync with my piano. Several years ago I even uploaded one video to YouTube. Since my TiVo can also stream movies including YouTube-- I am able to video sync that YouTube video with my piano over the Internet. I had a friend that has a Mark IV too, and so I sent him the sync file and it worked on their piano too. I just looked up the video and it still there. Some other things that I tried were loaded sync video to a digital picture frame which can sit on my piano and can play my piano from it. I also created a slide show that could play the piano. I even played videos from my phone and iPad that play my piano. One of the projects that I hope to complete by Christmas is to create background tracks for my old silent 8mm home movies of my family when I was a kid. I have digitized the film 25 years ago but am having it redone in HD. My Goal is to have it sync with my piano and have it play along as we watch them. (I will also make an audio version from my other family members that don't yet have ) I envision a day where Major Motion Pictures will one day sync with the piano too. Say like the "Man from Snowy River" so that when Jessica plays the piano in the film, your piano will play in sync. In fact I have been wanting to re-edit a small clip of this movie and add the sync capability to it as a proof of concept. In the hopes of generating excitement for this kind of technology. So that maybe someday you rent or buy the movie and buy or download an USB drive that you plug into your piano which sync with the movie. Yamaha has been beta testing streaming video concerts over the Internet that sync with the Mark IV and the E3's for a couple years now. So, I think the future is full of endless possibilities... And closer than you think. Like I always say: If you can dream it -- it can probably be done. -Ken! --- In disklavier@yahoogroups.com, "mh180005" <hofstetter@...> wrote: > > I'm curious about current or future options for viewing concert video on my HD Plasma TV while my Disklavier Mark III with the DKC-850 plays the piano part? > > What about Disklavier Radio and a simul-cast where the HD video is played on my plasma TV from my cable box and the piano plays along based on it's connection to Disklavier Radio. > > I have Blu-Ray DVD's of Elton John concerts where he plays a Yamaha piano that I watch in my home theater.
