This should be a caution to all grand piano Disklavier owners when having a mover transport your piano and why you may want to consider having a very experienced piano mover do the job separately from the rest of your household goods. The cable connector that connects the pedal lyre to the underside of the piano is round. What do people do with round connectors? Twist them! NO! This cable has a collet that one turns to loosen the cable. Then the cable is PULLED down, not twisted, to disconnect the pedals. An example would be like an old lamp cord with a round plug. You pull it out of the wall outlet, not twist it. Hopefully if this were to happen the pins could be straightened. Also, there is a little slot on the side of the cover that covers the pedal solenoids. You do not need to remove it to check pedal adjustment. Just peer through that slot while depressing the pedal, and a little red LED should come on at the bottom of the stroke providing you actually have the Disklavier turned on. You do need to remove the cover to actually adjust the pedal solenoid position. Carol Beigel
