Re: [disklavier] Karaoke with the E3 - DGB1KE3S

2014-08-13 by JORGE FERNANDEZ

I have a similar working setup at home, but since it is a try an error procedure please send me a direct email message and I'll try to explain it to you

You need:
  • a windows PC (laptop is fine)
  • an USB MIDI interface
  • Van Basco KAR player software
  • a stereo or home theater amplifier is desirable for the mic and the orchestral sounds
  • a second monitor or video screen is laso desirable (this 2 monitors setup is easier with a laptop)
Regards

I'm actually a new Yamaha dealer, and am at a loss as to how Karaoke might work with this system. Yes, I know it's not supported, but in simple terms, can one create a home karaoke system using this piano, which utilizes the DKC800 controller?

Adding a mic & speakers would have to be separate of course, but what we';re wondering is if there's a way to input a MIDI signal to play the piano, perhaps a backing track as well to play through the on board speakers. I have discovered through this group that there are some latency issues with the text on screen that can be adjusted so that the words appear at the right time, and I was thankful for that nugget of information. However any advice to create a turn-key system (or something close to it) would be appreciated. Vince
