24" iMac Display with Spyder 3 Pro

24" iMac Display with Spyder 3 Pro

2009-01-29 by heathorchardphoto

I've recently used the Spyder 3 Pro to calibrate my iMac and Macbook Pro and am concerned
that they may now have a magenta cast to them. This is my first time calibrating monitors
and I'm wondering if my eyes are just playing tricks on me or if I did something incorrectly. Is
there a way of double checking that the calibration is correct?

Thanks,

-Heath

Could you please send me a zip file containing the profiles you have
made for both screens, along with a description of what settings you
used for the profiles, and what iMac and MBP models you own. Are they
the new ones with the thick glass face on the screens? What ambient
light levels were in place when you profiled? PLEASE send to me only,
at address below, not to the list.

Heath:

All my friends who have Apple monitors with their new shinny glass
surface are having the same problem in calibrating their monitors. If
you find a solution, please post it to the group.

I recently purchased the Spyder 3 Pro also to calibrate my 24"Apple
monitor an the profile I generated made all the prints I produced with
it darker then the image on the screen. I realize that the monitor is
backlit and there will be a difference especially with matte paper. But
I was getting better results when I used the calibration software that
comes with OS 10 and the iMac. The prints were almost deadon. What's
going on with this calibrator? I think I wasted my money.
