OT: Spectral Reflectance curve available?

OT: Spectral Reflectance curve available?

2008-11-12 by Richard Svensson

Hi everyone,

I have Spyder3Elite and Spyder3Print and after some learning curve
have been absolutely satisfied with these.

My message is a bit off-topic. I am doing a study project where
I would need to measure & compare the spectral reflectance curves for
some pigment blends.
Basically I'm studying the colour metamerism and ways to overcome it.
The project will be progressing on quite iterative basis, so I need
to be able to measure samples on the run.

As I'm doing this on a students budget buying a brand new
spectrophotometer is probably out of the questions. The
prices seemed to be astronomical even for the used ones.

Is it possible to measure/export spectral reflectance curve with
 Spyder3Print?
Or is the device - as I think it is due to the measurement technology
- a tristimulus colorimeter?

Or if somebody happens to have a computer-attachable
spectrophotometer capable of
measuring the reflectance curve between 420nm - 680nm
they'd be willing to sell for a reasonable price, please make me an
offer to my email kirjoituskone@....
Older ones (those X-Rite serial port things etc) would do just fine,
I really just need to measure the reflectance curve.
Ergonomics and measurement speed are not my main considerations in
this situation..

Sorry, Spyder3 Print does not produce spectral reflectance curves...
