SpyderGallery 1.1 (free app for iPads and Spyder3's) is available on the App Store

2011-06-19 by David Miller

For anyone who has an iPad and may have missed this:

A month ago, we released the first version of SpyderGallery,
a free app forthe iPad, on Apple's App Store. Version 1.0 was
the first (and only!) app to provide a professional, color
calibrated image browser and display for images in the iPad's
photo library.

Last Thursday, we updated SpyderGallery to version 1.1.
Faster, stable and able to handle even very large RAW and JPG
images files that have been brought into the iPad photo
library from sources such as the Apple Camera Connector kit.

SpyderGallery has a number of unique features, and it's a
FREE download. All you'll need is both an iPad and any Spyder3
sensor to take advantage of color calibration when viewing
your photos in it's image browser.

Once you've created an iPad calibration with SpyderGallery:

- SpyderGallery will display your images in a Calibrated view
so that they will appear much closer to how they would
display on a calibrated computer display. There's also an
on/off switch to flip between calibrated/uncalibrated views.

- There's a watermarking feature, so that you can create a
custom watermark; with your choice of text, font, size,
opacity, and location; and then have your watermark overlaid
automatically on images in the SpyderGallery browser. You can
also use an image from your photo library as a watermark.

Why use SpyderGallery?

- It's cool

- It's free!

- Your Spyder3 sensor will do something that it never could
before: measure and calibration an iPad screen

- Images look the best, on an iPad, when viewed in SpyderGallery.

- The watermarking feature lets you show your work, in a
calibrated view, with your watermark added "live" as you're
browsing through and displaying the images.

We're encouraging everyone with an iPad and a Spyder3 sensor
to get SpyderGallery from the App store, install it, and enjoy.
And if you do so, please take the time to write a review and
leave a rating for it on the App Store.

You can find SpyderGallery by searching for it on the App
Store on any iPad, and there's also a product page for it
on the Datacolor web site. Enjoy!
