The 4.x software puts black separators as vertical lines between some of the patches to provide enough contrast for strip reading, for those who are using the new SR spectro. For those who are using an original DC1005, the black lines will make no difference. You'll notice that the same black lines which you see in the target prints are also shown in the previews of the target on the UI screen for selecting the target to print - it's because they're now part of the target, and they've been deliberately put there.
