Datacolor User to User Support Group.

I am migrating to a new machine -- Win 7 x64 from a WinXP x32. Have been using a Spyder 2 Pro  on an Apple Cinema 23" for about 4 years, and have just downloaded the Spyder 2 s/w for Win 7 x64. In deliberating a change to a Spyder 3 Elite, I am wondering what I'll gain in capabilities by making the switch in models. I know the hardware differences between the 2 and 3, but not what software capabilities I'll get by upgrading. Is it worth the outlay of $$ to upgrade? Datacolor support told me that they cannot guarantee that Spyder 2 will be supported in future updates of Win 7. 

Would appreciate the opinion of anyone who has gone this route.
