This discussion continues to be a "it's the hardware, not the software". Of course when we approach the hardware makers, they say "it's the software, not the hardware". Been going on since the advent of the computer. The shame of it is us consumers are stuck in the middle with systems that only meet our expectations about 80% of the time, and that may be a high estimate. Fortunately most of us can figure out work-arounds for the deficits in equipment and software and developers. pjs "Computer photography won't be photography as we know it. Annie Leibovitz no hablo mac J ------------------original message (or parts thereof)----------------- From: LAURIE SOLOMON Subject: RE: [colorvision_group] Re: Spider3Utility and Screen saver I am not CD ( I will let him speak for himself and his company); but I would like to make a few remarks on this your question. First, I think that the dual monitor support in Windows is not the problem here but that the video card is the problem. Thus, the utility probably will not do anything to change things if you have a single dual head video card that uses only one set of LUTs. Second, a video card with dual heads but one set of LUTs that controls both monitors in a dual monitor set up will not be able to independently color manage both monitors; to do so, you probably would need a video card that not only has dual heads but also has dual LUTs or two separate video cards. If my comments are wrong or out of line, I am certain my good friend CD will correct me.
