Hi, I have just calibrated my monitor again today. Currently I'm still using a La Cie Electron 22 B4 CRT. During the profiling process I am asked to adjust the brightness until I'm able to see 4 different grey swatches shown in a window. even after I've set the brightness at it's highest the 4 swatches still appear as all solid black with no obvious scales of grey. Is this the correct thing to do? I can't see any other way to do it other than setting the brightness to 100%. The monitor default is 30%, which results in a lousy, distorted profile. In the end my monitor looks good with grey appearing about as neutral as possible (i'm on a Mac running Leopard and the interface looks silvery grey with no warm/cool swings) ghi
