If you have a display that offers a contrast control (rare in this day of control-less LCDs) then yes, check the box saying you have a contrast control, choose Measured Mode, define a white luminance thats lower than the native white, and the software will prompt you to make the adjustment during running the application to your target white luminance, using the contrast control. Its always best to adjust via hardware controls, if they are available.
